Dale Hogard, a Michigan native, became a Christian in 1957. He was brought up with a godly mom and a fantastic but unsaved dad. Growing up, Dale liked to hunt, fish and do anything that had to do with the woods, water or shooting. Dale’s father accepted Christ shortly before he died in 1977.
Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965, he went to Vietnam September of 1966 with A/Btry/5th batt/16th artillery, 4th Infantry Div., the very first self propelled artillery unit in Vietnam, forerunners to the Paladins today’s troops are using in the Middle East.
Dale, a disabled veteran, credits his faith for a successful marriage and raising two bright kids that have made him very proud. Dale has faithfully served his church as an ordained Baptist Deacon and is presently Deacon Chairman.
Dale was with Rupert on the first Journey Back tour with Dave Roever and Pat Titsworth and other REAP team members to minister Christ’s love and compassion by awarding educational scholarships to Vietnam’s disadvantaged youth. He has returned two additional times excited to serve.
“Rupert is a dear friend and we have always been accountable to each other.. Our trials are so similar, our answer is the same, Jesus. I love him so much. Without him I would be nothing of value! God knows my heart. A scripture passage that means so much to me is
1 Peter: 4:11 If anyone speaks he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves he should do it with strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
